Easter celebrations

At the last drop-in session before Easter a fun morning was had by all. Firstly members had to make their own basket before embarking on a search of the building for chocolate eggs. There was then a playing card lottery which was won by Helen Lilley, the prize being a Chocolate Easter Bunny. An Easter and spring quiz followed culminating with an egg decorating competition. Jacky was the winner of both of these so she went away happy to enjoy her chocolate prizes.

Latest football result

Woking Minders travelled to Crayside Arrows in Kent. Towards the end of the match the score was a nail biting 10 goals each. Then within the last 2 minutes Mo scored a cheeky goal shortly followed by a clever goal by Mick leading to a final score of 10.12. Well done to Woking Minders and in addition Mick Masters was declared man of the match.

Rachel summits Kilimanjaro

We are delighted to report that Rachel was successful in her attempt to climb Kilimanjaro. She reached the summit on Friday 26th March. Rachel dedicated her climb to the memory of her brother Nick. Through sponsorship she raised £395 for Woking Mind and this money will be used to fund a summer day trip.

WELL DONE RACHEL WE ARE ALL VERY PROUD OF YOUR ACHIEVEMENT.



Commendation for work with Woking Mind

Hospital Radio Wey received a commendation for their work with Woking Mind in the Special Event section of the National Hospital Radio Awards. Thanks to Jon Andrews of Hospital Radio Wey and to all our members who participated in the hour long programme. Nigel said \"it was the best day of my life as I was able to read out the weather forecast\". One judge commended that \"this was a lovely entry - and deserves real recognition. The human interest material sent chills down my spine\"

Wii Sport hotting up

A greater number of people are showing their competative spirit by participating in the Wii Sport games programme. Who will be the first to beat the blistering challenge set by Paul C with his score of 202 in the ten pin bowling stakes?

Football triumph

Last Friday Woking Minders won their game against Leacroft Legends 10 - 6 at the game played in Staines. Congratulations to all the players and well done Mick for scoring a hatrick!

Waitrose to donate £240

Woking Mind is delighted to announce that its football team, Woking Minders FC will be receiving a £240 cheque from the West Byfleet branch of Waitrose as part of their Community Matters Scheme.

Pancake Cook in 2010

Last Tuesday our annual Pancake cook in event took place in conjuntion with Surrey County Council. The event was a great success with members cooking a variety of pancakes from savory to sweet. The Mackerel and sweetcorn filling was the most popular!! Click here to see the video of the event.
